Foxglove Legacy 2.2

Okay, so it's been almost a month since I last updated, holy shit. Oops. Life sure is crazy sometimes, that's all I can say. Also, I've been avoiding writing this update since I now hate using the LJ rich text editor, and HTML still takes a bit longer for me to use. But enough with the excuses!

Previously: Oh, hell, what even happened? From what I can remember, Polly hogged the hot tub, Royal managed to charm his way into Florence's ([info]simsarenotfoodpants heart, Tuesday and Carver ([info]kittenmittons) tied the knot, the first third generation babies were birthed, and Tuesday, Carver, and their baby, Alaska, moved out.

I had to build a nursery for Lirael (and the future babies~). Florence and Royal are both family sims, so it'd be wise to prepare yourself for how many kids they have. It's ridiculous.

I also redecorated the dining room with I was in a decorating mood.

Awwwwww, I love Lirael. She's got her daddy's eyes, Kingston's hair color, and (I think) most of her momma's facial structure.

Lirael: I'm just so adorable, I know. I completely understand why you're spamming my face.

Again, since I'm not creative enought to write baby gibberish, I just assume all babies in my game are born with a fully-developed vocablulary and grasp of language mechanics.

And what are Lirael's parents doing? Not paying her any attention, of course.

Royal: What'd you say to the suggestion we make some more kids? *eyebrow wiggle*

I think that's a yes.

Royal: You ready for this, my dear? We've never tried the treehouse before.

Ugh, what is it with my sims' odd tendency to use the treehouse (named Castle in the Sky, by the way) for their sexual romps? I feel bad for the kids that play in there... :|

Since her parents are...occupied, Lirael gets to spend some time with Kingston ([info]lostavenuea), who rolls nearly every want to interact with her. It's so cute that it nearly made me forget the ridiculous horniness of Royal and Florence.

Can I just say I love the stroller animations? 'Cause I sure do love them. Even if the strolls they take are way too long.

In other news, Peaches and Viola arrived home from the School of Peace and Love. In their swimwear.

Peaches: Ah, the earthy sensation of sand between my fingers reminds me of how I learned to love and honor Mother Earth in my days at boarding school.

Ah, hippies.

Looking good, Polly, looking good. She's such a cute elder. :3

Peaches: So, Mrs. Foxglove, what's your opinion on composting? And organic food? And solar energy?

Polly: I don't even know what you're talking about, but as long as I can swing and jump on the trampoline and skinny dip in the hot tub, I'm fine with anything.

Lirael: When is he going to feed me? Maybe if I act cute he'll realize I'm hungry.

Kingston: And this, Lirael, is a sea shanty:

And it's all for me grog, me jolly, jolly grog
All for me beer and tobacco
Well I spent all me tin on the lassies drinking gin
Across the western ocean I must wander~

The Foxgloves sure know how to raise children well.

I'm just going to leave this here.

After finally feeding Lirael (only after teaching her the art of singing sea shanties, though), Kingston had to go to work...which magically grew his hair into an emo 'do. The Sports career is a mysterious, wondrous thing.

D'awww. Florence and Royal (should I just start calling them Floyal or Rorence?) are lucky to have Lirael's grandparents to help them out.

Polly: C'mon, Lirael! Come to grammy! It's not like a fire-breathing dragon will attack you and leave you as a pile of scorched bones or anything!

Good work, Polly.

Polly: Who's the best widdle girl ever who avoided a gruesome death from a dragon? You are!

This kid is going to be so messed up when she grows up.

Royal's LTW is to be a martial arts master (I think that's the title), so he needs to start...you know, practicing martial arts. But why his hair changes to that when he practices, I don't know. I suppose it's the intensity of his concentration.

Hey, Schuyler! It's good to see you haven't outgrown being insane.

Royal: This is some party you're hosting, sis. Really. I'm having such a good time watching you freak out.

Schuyler: The stereoscopic meteor-troglodytes! They've come for me! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!

Kingston: I refuse to gaze upon the hot mess that is my youngest daughter's attire. PUH-LEASE. Girl, you need a makeover like my wife needs the hot tub.

I already showed her off ages ago on my
tumblr, but Viola did grow up to be a beautiful clone of her mother.

And Peaches also grew up to be miiiiighty fine.

Then, they both moved out because it's time to make more room for Floyal spawn. >:3

Florence: Lirael? Are you listening to mommy? This is a very exciting story; you don't want to miss it!

Florence fail. Alliteration awesome.

Florence: So, my love, don't you think we should buy some more toys and such?

Royal: ....Are you pregnant?

Florence: N-no! Of course not. Why would you think that?

Florence: It's not like we had unprotected sex in just about every possible location the last few days...nope, not at all.

Royal: Sorry for asking, dear.

Florence: I feel...a sense of foreboding....

Obligatory photo of pregnant sim vomiting. This pregnancy was rather hard on poor Florence.

Florence: Oh my gosh! I want to write a book about the wonders of pregnancy! Or what if there already is one? Well, I guess it'd be fun to read a book about pregnancy. Or unicorns!

Excitable sims. <3

Royal: So the first rule of fight club is: you do not talk about fight club.

Lirael:
I'm pretending to listen, but in my mind, I'm thinking of how silly your haircut is.

Maid: What is this bitch doing? I need to make up the bed, and she's just standing there.

Don't worry, she's just trying to pop into her pregnancy clothing. Give her a minute to concentrate.

Lirael: Yay, this crazy man finally finished blabbering on about a "fight club," whatever that is. Now I get to play!

Royal: Coolest Hippest dad ever, right? Right?

Lirael: WEEEEEW THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!

I just like this picture.

Lirael: Mark my words! I'm going to be something awesome when I grow up, like an astronaut or David Bowie!

Apparently, this is Florence's idea of everyday maternity clothing.

There. Much, much better.

Royal, meanwhile, was trying to master the art of meditation. And failing.

Royal: I had to sneeze, okay? Anyone would've fallen on their ass under the circumstances.

Royal: What now, huh? I'm so zen I'm filling the room with a trippy green glow!

Floyal is certainly the power couple of the decade, am I right?

There's finally some more gnomes around the house, mostly thanks to Tuesday's adventuring. They all seem to be fascinated by Polly's garden.

Polly: Yo, guys, wanna help me out with the weeding instead of sitting around and watching me do all the work?

Royal: Man, I never thought parenting would be so...stinky.

Lirael: Daddy doesn't like me? :(

No honey, he's just too block-headed to realize babies poop, and it often smells terrible. He'll grow up and get over it eventually.

Now it's time for Dinner with Kingston Foxglove.

♥♥♥

Polly: My life has been pretty wonderful, hasn't it? I don't know how I managed to raise those children of mine, but they turned out so nice that I suppose I shouldn't question it. And now I have grandchildren...what a strange feeling...and soon, I might pass away and leave my family behind.

Kingston: Hey, honeycakes, what are you getting all serious about? You've got so much more living ahead, so don't dwell on things.

Polly: I just have this odd feeling about it all...like the days are going faster now that we're older. I know it's silly, but I never stopped to think carefully about my life choices as I was making them, and now I wonder if I did the right things.

Kingston: Well, in my opinion, you've always acted in accordance with your personality and, you know, your sense of self. And that's the most anyone can do, really.

Polly: You're right, baby. Thank you for knowing just what to say, as always.

This has been a ~serious moment~ with Polly and Kingston. <3

Now back to the ridiculousness that is Royal Foxglove.

Oh, Royal. Oh.

Royal: Eugh, so gross. I guess meditating after drinking a gallon of coffee wasn't the best idea.

Royal: SHIT! Did I really just pee myself? How undignified! HOW CAN I LIVE KNOWING I PEED MYSELF??!!?1

Florence: Hm, I should be going into labor any moment now...need to make the bed look nice.

Florence: Ah, that looks so much better now.

Florence: Assistance, please! I'm giving birth here!

Florence: C'mon, this is...OW...ridiculous! HELP!

And what was Royal doing during this time? Oh, not much, just doing the laundry, cleaning the house. Vital stuff.

What about Kingston?

Playing with dolls. Also more important than giving birth, duh.

Florence: I'm going to kill you all for ignoring me! SHIT!

Yep, it's twins. Two boys, Ask and Tyr, though I have a serious problem identifying who is who. Really, it's bad.

And to update you on what the spares' children are like, this is one of Schuyler's kiddies with the random townie she married. I like her squishy-looking nose.

Royal: What's that, you say? A grilling contest in the park? Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm a little too busy with my infant sons to care.

Multitasking like a pro...unlike me.

Royal's just had the revelation that he's really a ninja in hipster disguise.

Kingston: My son is showing off his martial arts skills while I clean up after his child? I love my family.

Polly: Hey, good lookin'. What's cooking?

Kingston: Well, I don't know about you, but I think we could make a pretty sexy crème brûlée if we tried.

...I don't even know. I can't write a cohesive, plot-driven chapter to save my life, much less innuendo that makes sense.

Anyway, I gave Royal a bit of a makeover. Doesn't he look so pleased?

And this is one of the twins...either Ask or Tyr, but I'm going to go with Ask because I'm 70% sure it's him. Yeah. He's a heavy-sleeping loner, and as evidenced in this picture, he and Tyr both received IFs in the mail. :|

Tyr (...or Ask...) is also a little cutie. He's absent-minded and easily impressed, and has the prettiest blue eyes. Yes, I am introducing him with a screencap of him pooping.

Tyr: Why is my shirt mocking me?

Ask is such a cutie.

Of course, Tyr is, too, especially since he inherited his mother's ears. :3

Tyr: What is this magical instrument I hold before me?

Tyr: Huh, I thought it was a teeth-sharpening device, but I suppose not.

Royal: I love me.

Good to know your ego is healthy, Royal.

Royal: Hold the phone! What in the name of Daenerys Targaryen happened to my daughter's head?

That's what it looks like when my game decides to not load CC hair. :| (It's a mysterious issue Mac users sometimes have, for whatever reason.)

Yeah, Royal, it's always fatherly to sneeze on your child. So polite and caring.

Once again, Polly is put on teaching duty to help Floyal with their kids.

Polly: If you learn to walk, I'll give you candy and tell you embarrassing stories of your father when he was a child.

Polly: Oh, wait...Royal is just an overgrown child. Oh my.

Kingston: Chyeah, who's the best legacy founder's spouse ever? This dude right here! And my granddaughter's pretty awesome, too, you know.

Lirael: Arrrr, mateys! My name will be feared across the seven seas after I pillage and rampage in villages and ports worldwide!

And yes, that is a bald Florence teaching Tyr the wonders of quill pens and inkwells how to talk.

Then I quit and reloaded so that the hair would display properly again. All was well.

Then it was time for Lirael's birthday, of course~!

Royal and Lirael: I am so excited. Can't you tell?

Florence: FUQ YEAH, INCENSE!

Kingston is the only one I believe is actually acting appropriately for the situation, as usual.

Um. Wow. The eye defaults I was using made this expression particularly scary.

LEVELLLLL--

....Up? Lookin' fly there, Lirael.

Alrght, that's much better. I've actually been liking a lot of the store's hairstyles as of late, this one in particular. That flower headband is adorable.

~Immediately after Lirael's birthday~

Kingston: Maybe I could convince her that there are golden jellyfish living in the clouds...

Lirael: I bet he's going to try to make me believe something weird...

Royal: Darling, have I ever told you you look particularly radiant all the time?

Florence: No, but then again, I've never told you that I find you devilishly handsome at any moment of the day.

Kingston: Guess who's going to get their cheek pinched?

Lirael: THE HORROR! NOOOOOOOOO!

Kingston: Shush. Now who's a good granddaughter? You are! Back in my day, kids appreciated it when their elders paid them attention.

Lirael: But Grandpaaaaaaa, this is embarrassing.

Kingston: You'll be stronger for it, then. Now how 'bout let's go play on the seesaw, huh?

Lirael: Woah, really? My opinion of you just went from regular old dude to best grandpa in the history of EVER!

Lirael: So I know the whole golden sky jellyfish thing was a lie, but I'm still on the fence about whether or not the Loch Ness monster is real...you never know, right?

She's so cute. <3 And I love that Kingston now gets good use out of his childish trait again with all the kids in the house.

Royal: I just had a smashing idea! What if Florence and I had more kids?
SMASHING.

Kingston: I want to smash you for breaking the dishwasher again.

Royal: Okay, well considering this family's love of travel and the tendency for us to be featured outside the house right before notification that we're departing to a foreign locale...I'd say it's about time to go to China, wouldn't you?

And thus, the second generation Foxglove couple went to China for a very short trip. So short that it can be summed up in only a few pictures.

Such as this one.

This one expresses the thematic depth and emotional trip of their epic journey to China. Just look at the artistic way this man's hair falls across his forehead, the meaningful curves to his frown.

*queue fight sequence music*

And of course, Royal spent most of his time sparring, since
he wants to be the very best martial artist in the land.

All too soon, Floyal Royal and Florence had to go home. Polly and Kingston had only agreed to watch the kids for a maximum of three days, since Polly had hot tubbing to do and Kingston needed time for trampoline jumping. Priorities.

Tyr: Whatcha doin'?

Just appreciating what an adorable toddler you are. :3

Polly: I love you, darling. Really. You're what keeps me going and helps me stay grounded.

Kingston: I feel the same way, dear heart. From the day we met, I've never stopped loving you. I think it was that silly story about the pancake monster-man that made me fall for you.

Polly and Kingston: my OTP?

Lirael: Make fun of me, and I will cut you. Mwahahahahaha...

You know how I used to say Royal had a hidden loser trait? Well, I think Lirael has a hidden serial killer trait. That facial expression...

Florence: So...I think I'm pregnant again, by the way.

Royal:
Yessss.

Poor thing goes through this a lot. :/ Thing is, she's always rolling baby-related wants, so I suppose you could say she's a masochist.

Playtime with grandpa Kingston: Ask edition! I always feel like I neglect Ask (or Tyr? THE MYSTERY!).

Florence: Yep, hun, that's the third time I've barfed today. I'm definitely pregnant.

Royal: I made that bitch a baby. Bitches love babies.

That was going to be where I left you, with a picture of Royal's muscled glory, but instead, here's a small spares update!

Alaska as a child:

She's so pretty! And definitely like her father in appearance.

Schuyler's child with the random townie she married:

I don't remember her name, but I love her squishy little nose. :3

Woah. ARCH NEMESIS MODE, ENGAGE.

...or not.

I find this hilarious and a bit sad. Apparently, Viola broke up with Peaches, and now he spends his time stalking her. I think Twallan's story progression is turning my town into a soap opera.

And wow, three sets of twins in the family already! I like the names of those kids, too.

Thanks for reading!  For some reason, this chapter was especially difficult for me to write, even though it's definitely nothing special.
